SAN FRANCISCO – The UC Board of Regents heard public comment from community members calling for the University to divest from companies associated with the Israeli military, prevent antisemitism and freeze nonresident tuition.

Four people were arrested Tuesday after a protest held by Students for Justice in Palestine at UCLA blocked access to Bruin Walk.

As of 4:52 p.m., all protesters and UCPD officers have left Bruin Plaza and Bruin Walk. Nine CSC employees remain patrolling Bruin Walk.

As of 4:10 p.m., about 30 pro-Palestine protesters remain in Bruin Plaza, mostly sitting and talking with each other. Counter-protesters have left the scene. Eight CSC employees and five UCPD officers remain patrolling Bruin Walk.

At 4 p.m., 14 UCPD officers left Bruin Plaza and were met with boos and chants of “Cops off campus” from protesters in the plaza. Five UCPD officers remained patrolling Bruin Walk.

Around six counter-protesters have begun chanting, “Am Yisrael Chai,” to which pro-Palestine protesters responded with, “Free, free Palestine.” A pro-Palestine protester told his fellow demonstrators to “not engage with the Zionists.”
