The Daily Bruin Editorial Board offers the consolidated opinions of veteran members of the Bruin on topics relevant to UCLA. The Board generally publishes one to two editorials every week throughout the year.
Editorials are intended to serve as the jumping point, and not the conclusion, to discussion.
The board meets to discuss issues on campus and within the larger University of California system. Editorial positions are determined by majority vote and unsigned editorials represent the majority opinion of the board. The board operates separately from the newsroom.
The board stands behind the preservation of the University of California’s academic mission and believes that administration, at all levels, should be held accountable to students, faculty and staff. This includes, but is not limited to, state and county legislators, UC and UCLA administrators and elected student officers.
The members of the board believe an independent and accessible student press is critical to ensuring a well-informed student population.

Dylan Winward is the 2025-2026 editor in chief and as such, sits on the board ex officio. He was previously the 2024-2025 News editor and the 2023-2024 features and student life editor. He is a rising fourth-year English and statistics and data science student.
Zimo Li is the 2025-2026 digital managing editor and was previously the 2024-2025 Photo editor. She is on the editorial board and is also an Illustrations contributor. Li is a third-year history student.
Sierra Benayon-Abraham is the 2025-2026 Opinion editor. She was previously an assistant Opinion editor from 2024-2025 and a News contributor. Benayon-Abraham is a rising fourth-year public health student minoring in entrepreneurship and community engagement and social change.
Sara Green is a 2025-2026 assistant Opinion editor. She was previously an Opinion columnist from 2024-2025. Green is a rising third-year English and public affairs student.
Makenna Kramer is a 2025-2026 assistant Opinion editor. She was previously an Opinion columnist from 2024-2025. Kramer is a rising third-year history and public affairs student.
Megan Vahdat is the 2025-2026 Podcasts producer. She is also a News, Photo and Video contributor. She was previously a Podcasts staff member from 2023-2025. Vahdat is a rising third-year English student.
Michael Gallagher is the 2025-2026 assistant Photo editor on the News beat. He is also a Sports contributor. He was previously the assistant Photo editor from 2024-2025. Gallagher is a rising fourth-year communication student.
Manahil Gill is an Opinion columnist. She is a rising fourth-year molecular biology student minoring in French.
Nick Levie is an Opinion staff member. He is a rising third-year political science and public affairs student.
