UCLA will add full-time positions to its Student Affairs Mitigation Program to support the university’s response to protests and other demonstrations, UCLA Student Affairs said.
The new positions include a full-time Manager of Student Affairs Mitigation and at least one full-time Student Affairs Mitigation Advisor, who will report to the manager.

The UC has become more reliant on tuition revenue because of state funding fluctuations, according to a June report from a California research institute.

The Undergraduate Students Association Council passed 18 resolutions during the 2025-26 academic year, but its public resolution document only includes reports for three as of late May.

The UC Board of Regents voiced support for a state bill that would put a $23 billion research bond on the November 2026 ballot at its Wednesday meeting.
