UCPD is searching for a suspect after an attempted burglary Monday. 
The suspect reportedly climbed a wall into the backyard of an occupied residence on the 600 Block of Gayley Avenue on Monday around 1:17 a.m.

A former UCLA early child care education teacher was charged with multiple counts of sexual battery, false imprisonment, battery on a person, cruelty to a child and sexual penetration by a foreign object Tuesday. 
The Los Angeles City Attorney’s office filed the charges Tuesday against Christopher Rodriguez – who worked in various UCLA ECE centers, including the Krieger Center and University Village, for nearly 25 years.

The Los Angeles City Council confirmed President Pro Tempore Marqueece Harris-Dawson as the council’s next president Tuesday.
Last week, Councilmembers Katy Yaroslavsky – who represents Westwood – and Heather Hutt nominated Harris-Dawson, who represents District 8 and chairs the city’s Planning and Land Use Management Committee.

UCPD arrested and charged a student with battery near Perloff Hall on Wednesday afternoon. 
The arrested student struck an on-duty security officer’s hand while the officer was holding his phone near Murphy Hall and was then arrested near Perloff Hall, according to a Thursday UCPD news release.
