UCLA eliminated dozens of classroom computers this quarter amid budget shortfalls, which faculty said has impacted their teaching.
UCLA Digital & Technology Solutions implemented the Bring Your Own Device policy, which requires instructors to bring their own devices for classes in general assignment classrooms, said Lucy Avetisyan, associate vice chancellor and chief information officer, in an emailed statement.

UCLA will no longer use a committee to evaluate student conduct decisions – except in specific cases – and will give students more time to appeal conduct decisions, according to new guidelines sent in a campuswide email Tuesday.

The North Westwood Neighborhood Council elected a new at-large board member at its monthly meeting Feb. 4.
The council, which represents UCLA and Westwood Village, meets on the first Wednesday of every month at UCLA’s Weyburn Terrace.
