Hundreds of people gathered in Royce Quad to mourn the recent deaths of UC Santa Barbara students in the Isla Vista tragedy. With candles in their hands, UCSB and UCLA students, parents and alumni heard the words of those personally affected by the incident.

Students have begun developing software in gaming, natural language processing and machine learning which uses artificial intelligence concepts in the code. The Artificial Intelligence Club has created a platform for students to come together to develop projects with other students spanning various majors, from computer science to psychology and linguistics to cognitive science.

Emotions ran high as USAC candidates and their supporters gathered in Bruin Plaza to wait for election results. Bruins United won a majority of seats on the council, while Let’s Act!
