Thousands of workers struck against the UC on Wednesday and Thursday.
Members of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Workers Local 3299 – which represents patient care, service and skilled craft workers – voted to authorize a strike with 99% support after alleging that the University bargained in bad faith during contract negotiations.

Five thousand University of California workers filed to form a new union Friday.
The union – representing student services and advising workers – will join the United Auto Workers, according to a press release from the Student Services & Advising Professionals at the University of California.
