The Daily Bruin accepted 201 new interns for its fall 2025 hiring season.
Daily Bruin’s fall applications opened Sept. 8 on the UCLA Student Media application portal and closed Oct.

DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES – The Daily Bruin received four awards Sunday at the 67th Southern California Journalism Awards. 
The awards ceremony was hosted at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel by the LA Press Club, an organization that “exists to support, promote, and defend quality journalism in Southern California,” according to its website. 
The Bruin was honored alongside the Daily Trojan and industry professionals including the LA Times’ Bill Plaschke and CNN’s Clarissa Ward.

The ASUCLA Communications board appointed Dylan Winward as editor in chief of the Daily Bruin for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Winward, a third-year English and statistics and data science student from London, joined the paper in fall 2022 as an intern for the campus politics beat of the News section.

NEW ORLEANS – The Daily Bruin took home 46 awards at the Fall National College Media Convention, including several recognizing coverage of campus pro-Palestine demonstrations.

The ASUCLA Communications Board appointed Enterprise editor Lex Wang as editor in chief of the Daily Bruin for the 2024-2025 academic year.
Wang, a third-year history and political science student, joined the Daily Bruin in 2021 as an intern for The Quad, the paper’s explanatory journalism section.

The Associated Students UCLA Communications Board appointed Copy Chief Isabelle Friedman as Daily Bruin’s editor in chief for the 2023-2024 academic year Monday.
