Daily Bruin · Out of Bounds: Class of 2020 signs off
Sam Connon: Hi, my name is Sam Connon and this is Out of Bounds. I’m the outgoing Sports editor, soon-to-be senior staffer at the Daily Bruin.
When I sent in my Statement of Intent to Register to UCLA in April 2016, I knew exactly what I was signing up for.
I was a kid from San Francisco about to call enemy territory home for the next four years.

Although the 2019-2020 year finished with the cancellations of the remaining seasons for many UCLA teams, there were still inspiring performances by athletes competing in the blue and gold.
All two of the Bruins’ runs came in a single inning, but it was enough for the win.
No. 14 UCLA baseball (7-0) concluded the weekend with a series sweep over Saint Mary’s (2-5) with a 2-0 shutout in the finale Sunday afternoon.
The Bruins needed just three runs to secure their fifth win of the season.
No. 14 UCLA Baseball (5-0) picked up its second shutout victory of the year against Saint Mary’s (2-3) in a 5-0 win Friday night at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
In the 65th minute, Cardinal midfielder Marc Joshua’s first career goal broke the tieless score.
Stanford midfielder/defender Logan Panchot delivered a cross toward the middle of the box from just outside the top right corner where Joshua was able to get past the Bruins’ defensive line and avoid being flagged offside.
Facing their two Bay Area conference foes three weeks ago, the Bruins couldn’t pick up a home win against either.
UCLA men’s soccer (5-8-2, 1-5-1 Pac-12) is booked for a two-game road trip which will feature the Bruins second meetings with California (6-4-2, 2-2-1) on Thursday and No.
The Bruins haven’t had the conference’s leading goal-scorer since the 2013 season.
Junior forward Milan Iloski has a chance to change that for UCLA men’s soccer (5-6-2, 1-3-1 Pac-12) as he has 15 goals scored through 12 games – nine more scores than the next best player in the Pac-12.
The Bruins have been shut out for the third time in conference play.
The go-ahead goal in the 81st minute gave UCLA men’s soccer (5-5-1, 1-3-0 Pac-12) the 1-0 shutout loss against No.
