“Anushka Jain’s Personal Meeting. Please wait, the meeting host will let you in soon.”
It was the end of fall quarter 2020 and the time had come to pitch my first article to PRIME, the Daily Bruin’s quarterly magazine.

At the end of each quarter, we usually present you with PRIME magazine – a collection of long-form features, columns and art-forward stories highlighting overlooked voices on UCLA’s campus.

Cheyenne Cobb became a foster youth right before her senior year of high school. Placed in the care of her older sister following their mother’s death, the UCLA alumnus said she was not immediately aware the label “foster youth” was part of her identity.

The number of students enrolled at the University of California increased during the COVID-19 pandemic, despite nationwide trends of dropping college enrollment rates affecting other California public universities.
