The closest fire to UCLA, the Palisades Fire, has spread 23,717 acres and is 22% contained as of 8:50 a.m., according to the Cal Fire. The areas surrounding the Encino Reservoir and near the Getty Center are now under evacuation warnings.

The Palisades fire is now 18% contained, according to Cal Fire.
However, a Red Flag Warning remains in place for parts of Los Angeles County, and the National Weather Service has issued an “Extreme Fire Danger” warning for parts of northwest Los Angeles through Thursday, with conditions expected to peak Wednesday.
