A Bruin-turned-Trojan faced off with a Longhorn-turned-Bruin at the Olympic Games.
Rai Benjamin – who spent two seasons with UCLA track and field from 2016 to 2017 – represented Team USA in his second Olympics, winning two gold medals in the men’s 400-meter hurdles and 4×400-meter relay at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

UCLA track and field added Olympic glory to its coaching roster on Monday.
Former 100-meter hurdles Olympic champion Joanna Hayes was announced as the director of UCLA track and field and cross country in a press conference release Monday.
More than half of the Bruins’ roster competed at the Pac-12 championships over the weekend.
Two of them stood above their competitors.
