Finding yourself is a lifelong mission.
But that’s the beauty of it. Your identity is a living, breathing organism that can change and alter at any age.

In the United States, we value freedom and autonomy for all – that is, unless you’re experiencing homelessness.

Speaking out against human rights abuses shouldn’t be confined within national borders.
And as an internationally renowned institution of higher learning, the University of California has a responsibility to denounce injustice anywhere, especially when it affects its students.

Students have made their voices loud and clear about the failings of campus policing.
The University of California has chosen to ignore them.
Student activist groups, such as the No UCPD Coalition, have called for the abolition of police departments and the redistribution of resources to other campus safety measures.

In our criminal justice system, everyone is innocent until proven guilty – unless you’re poor.
The current cash bail system disproportionately burdens poor people who are forced to wait weeks, months, or in the case of then 16-year old Kalief Browder, years for their trial.

The typical college experience on Zoom might feel largely universal, but the role of gender in shaping that experience can’t be so easily turned off.
