When I first decided to apply to the Daily Bruin, I expected that working as a video journalist would be exciting and glamorous. And to an extent, my expectations were met.

“When you’re in an aircraft, and you’re flying, you’re 3000 feet above your problems. You’re 3000ft above the stress, the anxiety, the fatigue, and everything else” says student pilot and fourth-year development studies student Justin Sherrill.

Located in Sunset Canyon Recreation Center, the DIG UCLA garden coalition is a student-run organization designed to educate and bring together the greater UCLA community through the creation of an organic garden.

Michael Garafola and Alvin Malave started off as participants in the UCLA Adaptive Recreation program. They both enjoyed it so much that they started volunteering their time to help keep the program running.

In the classroom, UCLA Professor Michael Chwe lectures about political science and game theory but outside of the classroom, Professor Chwe enjoys making instruments from store-bought materials.
